How Ultrasound and Radiofrequency Work

Low level ultrasonic waves are transmitted to the area being treated causing enlargement of the fat cells until they explode. The result is that fatty tissue (including cellulite) is emulsified into a liquid. This fatty liquid is purged from the body over the next day or so via the lymphatic system. It is important to get some exercise immediately after the cavitation and to drink plenty of water both before and after the treatment.

Specific areas can also be targeted with radiofrequency which generates heat and causes local contraction of the collagen fibres, to immediately tighten the skin. New collagen is stimulated by the heated dermis and the tightening effect continues to increase over the next 3-6 months. RF also improves the blood and lymphatic flow, which in turn creates a better oxygen supply and greater toxin clearance to further reduce the effects of aging.
